Twinkle Star's current site was built in Elementor back in 2022 and it's done its job — no complaints, nothing broken. This is the refresh: a proper 2026 redesign. I've moved away from Elementor since then for my own reasons and switched to different systems — Breakdance was the right fit for this one.
Project Timeline
17 July 2026 Confirmed the stack: staying on WordPress, moving from Elementor to Breakdance. The old site's always worked, but it had a rocky start early on and Elementor's been a pain to update since — also decided pricing and staff info will be ACF-driven going forward, so they're easier to keep current. Done
1 August 2026 Fonts and colours locked for the refresh: Fredoka for headings, Nunito for body, built around Twinkle Star's yellow-and-charcoal 'Night Sky' palette — brand yellow #FFD200, charcoal #2C2C2C, cloud-white backgrounds. Yellow's kept strictly to backgrounds and graphics, never text on light — it fails contrast otherwise. Done
10 August 2026 First full homepage build shown to the client — the night-sky hero, 'Where little stars learn to shine' headline, animated twinkling stars, and the main nav. They're very happy with the direction, so this is the design I'm carrying through the rest of the site. (The stars genuinely twinkle when the site's live — I'll get a video of that up here at some point.) Done 
10 August 2026 Now finalising the rest of the elements across the site, tightening up the formatting, and making sure everything's properly mobile-ready before it goes live. Done
17 August 2026 Site's now in a usable, presentable state — new photography added across the site and a handful of small tweaks made as things get tightened up. Still finishing off the last few details before it's ready to go live. Done
17 August 2026 More formatting tweaks and general tightening up across the site today — spacing, alignment and layout polish on the pages that needed it. Getting properly close to launch-ready now. Done
24 August 2026 Site's essentially built and ready to go — just waiting on a final batch of photography from the client before it can launch. Everything else is in place. Done
22 September 2026 The final batch of photography is being added across the site now — the last piece before launch. In final development, with everything else already in place and waiting on this. Done
30 September 2026 All the photography is now on the site: photos of each of the four rooms, which open in a pop-up from the Our Rooms page, plus a set of shots of the garden. Error checks are done across the site, and it's now waiting on the client's approval before it goes live. In Progress
