Where it all began
Lantern Yard started in 2019 with a two-barrel kit in a lock-up behind the livestock market, named after the old sodium lamp our landlord never got round to switching off. Most of the first year's beer went to mates, the odd farmers' market, and one very forgiving pub in town.
In a town that takes its food and drink as seriously as Malton does, the bar was never going to be low. So we brewed slow, canned small, and let the beer do the talking — and somewhere along the way the lock-up became a ten-barrel brewhouse with a taproom on top.
Still independent. Still in the yard. Still leaving the light on.
